Victorian Tile in the tradition of Arts & Crafts,
also known as the decorative wing of the Pre-Raphaelite movement

18 March 2024

William Morris, founder of the Arts and Crafts Movement

With the arrogance of youth, I determined to do no less than to transform the world with Beauty. If I have succeeded in some small way, if only in one small corner of the world, amongst the men and women I love, then I shall count myself blessed, and blessed, and blessed, and the work goes on. ~William Morris

What's New?

Well, that winter felt like the longest decade of my life. Now, the sky is blue, things are growing, I have two new springer spaniels I am adopting from Springer Spaniel Rescue (and if you purchase Medieval Dog Tiles), you are supporting them, too.

I took advantage of some of the downtime over the winter to put up some customer installation photos and add some new tiles I've made this last year (or two or three) but I'm not even close to caught up. It's in the plan to reorganize things so they're a bit easier to find, but as always, do start with the sitemap and if you're more on a mission than interested in browsing, you should, too.

A word of thanks: As many of my returning customers know, my husband Carl passed in August 2022. He was the world's most annoying man -- who knew I loved him so much? But it's been a while now and I am more often thankful than grieving, and especially thankful to everyone who sent condolences and flowers, and who were patient as I learned to walk on my own again spiritually. Do hold the people you love close and cherish them. There is a lot of love in the world, in more shapes and sizes than one expects. Make memories.

Current time to ship is 2-4 weeks for most orders. Due to some supplies being overloaded and taking time off over the holidays, as well as the overall lag in shipping times, we're more at the top end of that window as the month progresses. Larger orders may take longer.

William De Morgan Parrot and Macaw Backsplash. With Parrot Stories!

New customer installation photos added to Kitchen Backsplashes

Art Nouveau: Tiffany Grape Vine fireplace tiles.

Classic Blue Onion is live. Finally.

Nine new tiles added to the C.F.A. Voysey Alice in Wonderland Tiles.

Created a Mock Turtle for the Lewis Carroll Fireplace Tiles. There is no original De Morgan mock turtle but one was sorely needed so I've created one from the body parts of other De Morgan creatures. A Mock Turtle Frankenstein, as it were.

Newly launched: Large murals. These will be labeled in the sitemap listing.

I am continuing to replace, or add as an option, some the intricate pattern tiles, that are too dense on a single tile, with two-tile sets. I am really happy with this. It makes them easier to see and has been so well-received that I'm going to continue this trend.

In other news, I am still in the process of updating the pricing on the 6x3 tiles I started last month. Accent tiles are also in the process of going up a bit, but not very much. To offset, the price of several of the murals is coming down substantially -- As I get more practice with new designs, the quality increases and the price comes down, as I waste less. So it shouldn't hurt too bad.

I modified the Catalog in an attempt to make the website easier to navigate. You can drill down from the Catalog, or if you know the tile you are looking for by name, it will be listed on the Site Map.

He has tinged my whole inner being with the beauty of his own, and I know not a single gift for which I owe such gratitude to heaven as his friendship.

But really, it's getting away from me....

I've started work on nests, kitchen herbs, and possibly even more fish. Kitchen herbs are probably more important but I am enjoying the nests. Meanwhile, do see the Ladies' Flower Garden of Ornamental Annuals
