William Morris Art Tiles : Cinderella Panels
Morris and Co. produced the first set of six two-tile Cinderella panels for a bedroom overmantel at 'The Hill', the home of painter Myles Birket Foster. The Cinderella tiles were designed by Edward Burne-Jones and painted by Lucy Faulkner. Ten Cinderella designs were done in 1862; six were implemented as overpanel tiles. The corrdor window figures of Fate and Love were take from tile designs for Cinderella and implemented as stained glass in the corridor windows of the Red House.
